AFC Youth Ministries
Volunteers play a critical role in the success of AFC’s mission. AFC strongly believes in providing individuals with the opportunity to give back to the community. Not only is volunteering rewarding for the individual, it also has a major positive impact on the experience of our program participants. Volunteers serve as mentors, tutors and additional role models for our youth, as well as provide event support and assist with vital administrative tasks. Other opportunities range from street outreach to housing support to mentoring; as well as behind the scenes roles such as community partnership development, office administration, fundraising, and volunteer management. Once you volunteer with AFC, your life will never be the same.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, consent to a criminal background investigation (which has a small processing fee), complete a liability waiver, provide a signature to accept certain policies, and provide three character references.
Join us to help make a difference in your community!
If you’d like to volunteer individually, a tutor match or a mentorship may be a great opportunity for you.
If you’d rather make it a social activity with your circle of friends or colleagues, consider hosting an event or a drive, or helping out at one of our fundraising events
There are a variety of ways corporate partners and workplace teams can get involved:
Please contact us at info@afcyouth.org to get involved!
Host your own online fundraiser to raise funds for AFC through Crowdrise by GoFundMe or Facebook. Peer-to-peer fundraising is a fun and easy way for individuals, corporations, and groups to support AFC programs and make an impact. You design the campaign: birthdays, events, a marathon—possibilities are endless!
You can double or even triple the impact of your gift to AFC with workplace and matching gift programs. Contact your employer’s human resources office to find out if you can support AFC via payroll deduction or your workplace giving campaign. Your company may also match your cash donations or volunteer hours: ask your employer, or check our list of companies with matching gift programs. Does your company participate in a workplace giving program? Let us know by emailing info@afcyouth.org and we’ll add them to our list!
A gift to AFC in the name of a loved one is a meaningful way to honor or memorialize that person. Make your gift here and be sure to include the name of the person whom you are honoring in the comments section. If you would like us to send a card to your honoree or their family acknowledging your gift, please include the appropriate address. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@afcyouth.org.
Legacy giving enables you to make a significant contribution to the work that is most meaningful to you. It is a way to memorialize your values and your care for your partner, family, and community. With proper planning, you can ensure your wishes are fulfilled, potentially lower your estate tax, and create powerful change for homeless youth.
